Also...

We're thinking of moving to Arkansas. Hubby works there anyway and has to drive 1 1/2 to work every morning. They want him to move down there. (they pay for gas in the company van) He would get a raise and they're willing to pay for gas for us to keep going to our church. AND his boss down there said he'd give him an hour paod a day to look for a house. We're praying on it. We'll see what happens

Oh yeah......

I forgot to say that we got the news today that someone else got the house. But we figured that might happen so we're not to disappointed. There are other houses!

Mother's Day and God's Protection

I had a really great Mother's Day! Hubby was extra sweet and thoughful. And I got way more than I was expecting. I was expecting the haircut. (see above)

But he also got me my favorite game. Build-a-Lot. It's basically a real estate tycoon game. So fun and so addictive! I had been downloading the demo from the internet, but you can only play so much. So we found it at Best Buy and he got it for me. YAY!

My mom got me this makeup. I was in dire need of it! I got her the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun".

Hubby also got me this chocolate from Target. We've seen it before but it's $12 for 12 pieces. It's a special occasion chocolate. This is the summer mix. The flavors are smores, peaches and cream, raspberry sorbet, blueberry cheesecake, mint chocolate chip ice cream and orange cream. The fruity ones are my favorite. I got them Friday and I've only eaten 6. They're the savoring kind of treat!

Then I found these dresses at Walmart on sale for $5 a piece and couldn't pass it up!

On the actual day of Mother's Day, hubby took me and my mom to get frozen custard and then he took the kids while my mom and I went shopping. He's such a doll!!!

On a different note, we are praising God for His protection! Saturday evening, severe storms passed just south of where I live. I only got wind and some hail. I heard there were tornadoes and softball sized hail to the south. I didn't know how bad it had gotten until the yesterday when I got to church. 23 people had been killed and I don't know how many houses have been destroyed. I ask for prayer for all the people affected by these storms. But that's not the basis of this post. One of my best friends and her family were miraculously spared by the hand of God. She was one of 11 people in her father-in-law's home, along with her husband and her 2 year old daughter, when the tornado hit. They all piled into the hallway. She said she heard the house crashing around them. She could feel the wind trying to pull her baby out of her arms. All she could do was hold on and scream the name of Jesus. A few second later it passed. They looked up to nothing. There was one wall by them and that was all that was left. That storm should've killed everyone in that house. They should've been sucked up with the rest of the house. But God was there. All 11 people walked out with just minor injuries from debris. I praise our mighty God for His great mercy! He truly is our shelter from the storm!!!
There are supposed to be other storms coming this way again tonight. I trust He has His hands on His children and will keep them safe. Praise His name!!!

Still Waiting....

We put our offer in on the house on Sunday, April 20th. We were told there were 2 other offers and were urged to raise our offer so we'd have a better chance. So we did. We were supposed to hear and answer that Tuesday. On Tuesday, they told us there had been another offer and that they had to do an appraisal on the house before they could give us an answer. By Tuesday evening, the two beginning offers had dropped out. (I'm not convinced they actually existed) But they said we'd hear an answer on Friday. We had to call them on Friday. Only to find out that the person at the bank that was handling it had such a big work load we wouldn't hear until the next Monday. Well here comes Monday...I had to call. Turns out that there were still questions on the appraisal. But the one other offer was gone because the people couldn't get financing. Bad for them, good for us. But now they're saying we won't hear again until this Friday. Tomorrow. I've heard that before. Now, to be fair, the realtor we're going through, is not the listing agent. She has to go through the listing agent who has to go through the bank handling the house. I think our agent is truthful and good. She's just the messenger. We think that the listing agent made up the first two offers to get us to make ours. That mixed with the waiting is just aggravating me to no end! I've been praying for patience. I think God's answered that prayer, seeing as how I've not strangled anyone yet.

We Made an Offer!

If it is God's will, this will be our new house! We made an offer on it yesterday. But I guess we're not the only one's that have made an offer. We don't know what the other offer was. We were told ours is at least in the ballpark.
It has 5 bedrooms and 3 baths. It has a nice big open living/dining/kitchen area, which I LOVE! And it sits on just over an acre in the nice, peaceful country. It's almost 10 miles outside of town. It would be such a change from living smack-dab in the middle of town. A very good change!!!
I believe if God wants us to have this house we'll get it. If not, we won't. But whatever happens, I know His will is always best!

Great is His Faithfulness!!!

We are going through a bit of a tough time right now. But I'm not worried at all!!! God used Joseph's bad situation to save all of Israel! If a few snags in the road is what it takes to make us into the people He wants us to be, so be it! I know God didn't make this situation but I know He can use it to display His glory! We will be stronger and smarter from this. The devil attacks and we just have to come out swinging with God's mighty power!!! He will never forsake us! What the devil meant for evil, God will turn into good! Isn't our God AWESOME!!!?
